Enter Stan Petersen. A stocky fellow, Stan sports a beard, glasses, and a stained, wide-brimmed straw hat. He is filled with opinions and stories. Brian refers to him as a “toothless, fuzzy, teddy bear.” The arrival of his GMC truck is always a source of pleasure and relief. Stan had also built a strawbale home for his family in Tremonton, Utah, that we featured in our book, Strawbale Home Plans. I’ve worked with him on several bale projects and have developed a deep respect for his plastering and masonry skills that he has honed over forty years, including Old World techniques in Norway and Italy.
